Meeting with Budget and Management Sec. Benjamin Diokno. JFC executives met with DBM Sec. Diokno for the first time in the current administration to discuss priorities of the department in the 2018 budget, some of the planned budget reforms, and the Secretary’s views on the many reforms on government procurement laws, tax sharing scheme between the BIR and the LGUs. Sec. Diokno emphasized that the 2018 budget will at least stay at the same level as the current GAA, with or without tax reforms. Towards the end, he shared to the JFC that he had been strongly advocating for movement of the Rightsizing Bill in the Senate, which will give power to the Executive Branch to rightsize and restructure the government.
