The Shell companies in the Philippines (SciP) represent various companies operating in oil and gas exploration, natural gas extraction, production, business processing, refining, distribution and sales of smarter products for clean and efficient fuel transport. SciP started operations in 1914 and has grown to become one of the largest investors in the Philippines employing over 4,000 people nationwide. It operates the Malampaya Deep Water Gas-to-Power Project, generating 20% of the country’s power requirements using cleaner-burning natural gas. The Tabangao Refinery in Batangas produces high quality petroleum products with nameplate capacity of 110,000 barrels per day. On November 3, 2016, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation became a publicly-listed company in the local bourse with the stock symbol “SHLPH”.
